After spending 17 years living and building his music career in Nashville, Collins returns to Music City to receive one of his biggest career honors
CLEARWATER, FLA. — September 24, 2026 — Florida-based country artist Chas Collins has been named the 2026 Josie Music Awards Rising Star of the Year (Male), receiving the honor September 20th at the historic Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.
For Collins, the award represented a significant milestone in a career that has taken him from his hometown of Belle Chasse, Louisiana, to Nashville and across the country as a nationally touring artist.
But the moment onstage was about more than receiving an award.
As Collins stepped to the microphone to accept the honor, he paused and said, "Wow, I've waited 24 years for this."
He then pointed toward the sky and thanked his mother, his grandmother and his grandfather, who had always told him that he could do it, and that one day he would stand in that circle.
With emotion in his voice and a lump in his throat, Collins took in the moment.
For an artist who spent 17 years building his career in Nashville, standing inside the Grand Ole Opry House and receiving an award in the famous Opry circle carried a significance that went far beyond the trophy itself.
Collins received three nominations for the 2026 Josie Music Awards, including:
Rising Star of the Year - WINNER
Song of the Year for "No Place I'd Rather Be"
Best Actor in a Music Video for "Slam Bam"
Adding to the celebration, Collins' wife, who co-starred alongside him in the "Slam Bam" music video was nominated for Best Actress in a Music Video, bringing the total recognition for the project to four Josie Award nominations.
